The Home of Lässig transforms into a true paradise for small and big adventurers alike during the summer.

Hiking with children can be a challenge – they are often hard to motivate and quickly get bored. But in Saalbach Hinterglemm, it's completely different. Here, hiking becomes an experience that makes children's hearts beat faster and even excites the biggest skeptics. The region offers a variety of child-friendly adventure trails that entertain with exciting stories, fun games, and interesting puzzles.

From mysterious goblins who need the help of little detectives to cheerful clowns who want to regain their smiles – there is so much to discover and experience in Saalbach Hinterglemm that boredom has no chance. And while the kids are having their adventures, parents can relax and enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery.

Kodok’s Adventure at the Reiterkogel

Before taking the Reiterkogel cable car, you can pick up the adventure pass at the valley station. Kodok’s Adventure starts right at the mountain station of the cable car.

Over the years, Kodok has transformed from a mischievous goblin into a guardian of the mountain, using his magical powers to keep harm at bay. But fate has it that a cunning troll has stolen Kodok’s magical items. Kodok now relies on the help of adventurous children to find the stolen items. The adventure trail features eleven new and exciting puzzle stations that make hiking a playful experience!

In addition to the adventure trail, Kodok’s Play World awaits at Reiterkogel. With adventure play letters, a slide tower, a water playground, a motor skills course, and the giant Archimedes screw, the time at the cool water becomes a highlight for the kids, while the parents can relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding Glemmtal mountain world.

Montelino’s Adventure Path at the Kohlmais

This themed hiking trail is also perfect for a family hike. Take the Kohlmais cable car in Saalbach up to the Kohlmais summit, where the first thing to impress you is the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. But there’s not much time to marvel, as the kids want to help Clown Montelino regain his smile. Here’s a brief backstory: The little clown neglected his friends and toys – so one day, all his friends disappeared, and his toy chest was empty. The little clown became terribly sad and lost his smile. Now he urgently needs help!

Equipped with a game pass, which the children receive at the valley station, you follow the wise owl and search for Montelino’s friends and toys. From the mountain station to the middle station of the Kohlmais cable car, the path leads through forests and alpine meadows, where 15 game stations await the whole family. From the spider web to target throwing, from the giant snake Paula to the puppet theater. From the squirrel’s nest with the golden nut to the giant slide to the circus arena – there’s so much to discover on Montelino’s Adventure Trail!

When the friends and toys are finally found and the clown has regained his smile, a small reward can be picked up at the valley station. Additionally, you can participate in a raffle with many great prizes.

To fully enjoy the adventure trail, you should allow at least two hours, but ideally, half a day to a full day. Mountain huts with special children’s offers along the way invite you to rest. The deer feeding also invites you to take a break along the way.
