Inside Storybase 2019

Let's go, let's go!

"It feels a bit like Big Brother..." says one of the crew members, suspiciously looking at all the cameras, gopros and smartphones lying on the table in front of us. "Or as with Germany's next Topmodel," inserts another. 
The Storybase crew gathered in the lounge of the house, which will be their home for this week, and discussed how the room division should be done. It's a bit strange to know that we're going to spend a week together here in the "Home of Lässig" - after all, we've only known each other for a few minutes.

The Storybase Crew 

The crew couldn't be more different: 11 creative minds from Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands were selected to explore the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and to report about it. There are the landscape photographers, who want to capture the most beautiful spots of the region with their drones, the freeride gang, where everything revolves around powder and capturing every momentum on camera, the Dutchwoman, who can hardly wait to ski for the first time and of course the outdoor fans, who have set themselves a goal: To try EVERYTHING.

Try everything? Really everything?

Taking a look at the program for this week, it quickly becomes clear to us: trying out everything the Skicircus has to offer could be difficult - not to say impossible. Whether paragliding, a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered winter landscape, a llama hike, ski tours, torchlight hikes, a walk to the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps, tobogganing, skidooing or freeriding with professional guides: the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn has much more to offer than 270 kilometres of pistes and 60 rustic ski huts.
And it's all there: Everything can, nothing must. So every crew member can put together their own daily schedule from the various activities - just like you do when you are on holiday somewhere. 

What were the highlights of the Storybase?

As different as the characters of the Storybase Crew 2019 are, as different are our experiences in the Skicircus. Some of us go "looking for freedom" at the David Hasselhoff concert and in the untouched powder snow, some become early risers and are the first to get to the Early Bird Ride before sunrise and others practice their refreshment and get the "last man standing" certificate at the Pub Crawl. A special highlight for all of us is the helicopter flight, where we can admire the snow-covered peaks from a different perspective. And then there is the experience with the closed road, which probably none of us will ever forget...

Storybase Crew locked out!

Mother Nature was very generous this year: We really don't lack snow during the Storybase week. Good for the freeriders, bad for the road conditions! 
On the third day we get so much fresh powder that the road to Saalbach has to be closed overnight for safety reasons. Unfortunately the crew is outside of Saalbach during the Fieberbrunn focus day and can't make it back in time... Storybase Crew locked out - that's never happened before!

But we are flexible. Thanks to the efforts of the orga crew, we quickly found an accommodation in Leogang and at the end we had one of the nicest evenings of the Storybase 2019: Because nobody packed any charging cables, we can finally give each other the undivided attention. So it happens that we actually talk to each other (!) without being busy with image or video editing. 
Because even if it often doesn't look that way from the outside, there is more work behind an Instagram post than one might imagine. But that belongs to the "Influencer life" ;) And to refute all the prejudices against the "digital natives" who can no longer survive without smartphones: The only (borrowed) battery charging cable available to us this evening is shared fraternally/sisterly - that's true crew love!

New day, fresh snow, new adventures

In contrast to us, the whole team of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is busy that night and works around the clock to make the road passable again and to turn the fresh snow into buttery slopes. So we can continue our adventures in the Skicircus the next day as planned and enjoy the fresh powder snow. That's the way it is, if mother nature means well with you. Everything easy! 

The conclusion of Storybase 2019

Eleven influencers - one mission. For seven days we explored the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn as part of the "most laid-back influencer event in the Alps". We have given everything to try out as many activities as possible for you and to report live on our channels. Have grown together as a crew, learned from each other and found out: We could have spent a few more weeks in the "Home of Lässig" - we probably wouldn't have run out of activities so fast! 
Many thanks to the team of the Tourist Board, who made this relaxed week possible for us, to the weather god for the never-ending podwer supply and - not to forget - to the best Storybase crew ever.
