Bergstadl-Trail at the Westgipfel gondola in Saalbach Hinterglemm
A high mountain trail of the highest quality with some flowing passages, but also interspersed with tough sections with obstacles and rooty terrain. This is a panorama and trail experience that is hard to beat.
A demanding trail for real experts
The Bergstadl-Trail is the more challenging alternative to the Hacklberg-Trail, throwing up technical subtleties again and again. After about 300 m on the legendary Hacklberg-Trail, it branches off, through many bends and a picture postcard idyll, taking you right to the mid station of the Westgipfel gondola. This often very narrow, rooty, angular trail is a true challenge for experienced bikers and all those aspiring to be such. Despite a short carrying section of about 30 m, the biking fun and the terrain experience over the narrow trail with its various obstacles is unique.
This trail is very technical in some places, and is dotted with tight bends, berms, and stony and rooty sections. Flowing passages alternate with tricky sections, and the route winds into the Buchegg-Trail at the Westgipfel mid station, with its totally different character: flowing and with large berms, it meanders through alpine meadows, giving you a wonderful finale to this challenging tour.
