Take the Thurn

Long gravel loop to Kitzbühel and back over the Pass Thurn.

From Saalbach village square, the tour leads uphill towards Spielberghaus with a rapid gravel descent towards Eiserne Hand to Fieberbrunn and along the cycle path to St. Johann in TIrol. Accompanied by the panorama of the Wilder Kaiser, the route continues to the chamois town of Kitzbühel, which invites you to take a coffee break. Partly on cycle paths, partly on the road, the route continues via Jochberg (whose municipal area borders on Saalbach Hinterglemm) to the pass at Thurn, the border between Tyrol and Salzburg. From here, the descent begins via the main road to Mittersill. Follow the Tauern cycle path via Niedernsill, Piesendorf and Lake Zell and the Glemmtal cycle path back to Saalbach.
